If it helps finding my old settings (2), I remember if I set my browser's input and output to both cable input and output (back then I was just a bit lazy so I set them both to cable input and output knowing that since it didn't matter if there was any audio playing through the browser, the audio would just go through the mic into the game I'd been playing and it did no looping or anything). If it helps me find my old settings I once remember being able to use Virtual Cable and VM Banana in a way that if you toy with the "App volume and device preferences" settings in a certain way (putting cable input and cable output in the input and output), you are able to loop the audio from the game through to the mic.
I already did this once, but I needed to delete VM and the virtual cable, and so far I have completely forgotten how to do it again. The "Virtual Soundboard" I plan on using is DCSB
